I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms, although well-equipped, were not very clean, with a disgusting bath and thick dust under the bed. On the bright side, the location was convenient for exploring York attractions, being close to bars and shops. The service was friendly, with some staff members going out of their way to assist. The dining options were limited, but the price was reasonable for what was offered.

The hotel is conveniently located near the town center and Clifford's Tower, with easy access to the university by bus stops. The rooms are spacious and well-suited for 3 adults, facing a nearby pub but with minimal noise disturbance. The service from the staff, especially Karen and Robbie, was exceptional, ensuring a warm and welcoming stay with genuine care. However, the rooms can get warm in hot weather, and some may lack fans for comfort.

Our room was on the first floor overlooking the outside seating area for the pub, but surprisingly quiet considering the hotel was full. The 2 USB sockets on each side of the bed made charging our devices a breeze. Cleanliness was top-notch.

I had a lovely evening at the hotel. The room was fantastic if you desired a view, but it overlooked the road. Unfortunately, it was not ready until 3:25 PM, even though we had booked 2 family rooms. The howling wind through the windows on the first night was a bit bothersome.
